Cunard is pleased to announce the 2009 itinerary for Queen Victoria.
Following her sold-out Inaugural, Holiday, and maiden World Cruise, the newest ocean liner, Queen Victoria will sail the length and breadth of Europe for summer 2008. There she will sail 14 unique itineraries, from the stunning Norwegian Fjords, to historic St. Petersburg, Russia and into the legendary Mediterranean and Aegean Seas.
Queen Victoria will spend her first summer based in the sunny Mediterranean, with an array of exciting itineraries to some of the most enchanting ports of call in the region.
Many of Queen Victoria´s voyages begin and end in different classic Mediterranean destinations, such as the Ancient Wonders of the Mediterranean voyage which embarks in Rome and concludes in Athens. Or Greek Isles & Aegean Shores which sails from Venice to Istanbul.
Several voyages include overnight stays in some of the world’s most charming cities, including Barcelona, Venice, and Istanbul.
Cunardia, Cunard Museum
Destined to become one of Queen Victoria´s most captivating features, Cunardia enlightens and entertains visitors with heartfelt anecdotes and artifacts dating from Cunard´s Queens of the 20th century.
Retired Commodore Ronald Warwick serves as Honorary Curator and oversees an abundance of Cunard memorabilia and vintage souvenirs, including Queen Mary´s log book and her historic zigzag clock. This vital timekeeping device alerted navigators as to when to change course during the operation known as zigzagging — a tactic designed to confuse WWII U-boats.
Chef Stiefel

In 1992, Chef Stiefel joined Cunard Line aboard the MS Vistafjord. Over the years he has held the titles of Demi Chef de Partie to Chef de Cuisine. His career included stints at the famous Four Seasons Hotel The Pierre in New York, as well as onboard Cunard liners Sagafjord and Caronia.
Chef Stiefel holds the German Master Chef´s Degree and is a member of many international gastronomical societies, including Chaine des Rotisseurs. He also received the honour of being Compagnon de la Toque Blanche.

Being the head Chef on Queen Victoria means being responsible for pleasing the palates of over 3,000 people. A typical day for Chef Stiefel demands constant supervision of a staff of 214, sampling menu items, completing a staggering amount of paperwork and shuttling between the various galleys and restaurants, as well as having meetings with the Chef de Cuisine, Chief Butcher, Chief Baker, Chief Pastry Chef and Crew Chief.
